William Anthony Barnes, better known as Tony, entered his final rest on February 18, 2021, after an extended illness at Pinellas Hospice Care Center in Clearwater, Fla. Tony was born in Boston and was the son of William and Patricia (Stewart) Barnes of Brockton, Mass. He graduated Brockton High School, Class of 1982, and played varsity football for the Brockton Boxers. In addition to his parents, Tony leaves behind three sons, Brian of Irvine, Calif., Brandon of Bourne, Mass., and Anthony of Largo, Fla.; his sister, Adrienne Barnes-Classen and her husband Ivan; his niece and nephew, Analiese and Ian Barnes-Classen; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He will be truly missed. Tony lived a full rich life on his own terms. His family loved him and is thankful he is at peace and free of pain. Tony was cremated as he requested and a memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
