John A. Golding, 54, of Brockton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 21, 2018. He was the loving husband of 26 years to Diane M. (Ferretti) Golding; and the devoted father of Megan E. Golding, Rebecca L. Golding and Caroline G. Golding. In addition to his immediate family he was the dedicated brother of Deborah McMullen and her husband Joseph, Irma Monteiro, Maureen DiRenzo and her husband James and Elizabeth Shaw and her husband Mark; son-in-law of Albert and Judith Ferretti; brother-in-law of Albert Ferretti, William Ferretti and his wife Tricia and Carol Thomas and her husband Brian; he was the fun-loving uncle of 21 nieces and nephews including the late Michael Avery. Born February 7, 1964 in Brockton, he was the son of the late Arthur Golding and Helen (McAfee) Golding. A lifelong Brockton resident, he graduated from Brockton High School in 1982 and then received his Associates Degree from Massasoit Community College. John served in Iraq during Desert Storm with the National Guard Military Police Unit #772 out of Taunton. Returning from Iraq, he joined the Burger King Corporation where he worked for 27 years. In 2011, he started working for Dennys as a Franchise Business Coach up until his passing. A devout catholic, he was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Brockton. John will be remembered as a dedicated family man, a man with a strong commitment to his faith, one for always lending a helping hand to those in need, a beautiful soul, kind heart and his famous sense of humor. He loved spending quality time with his family, which included going to his children's activities, supporting the various Boston sports teams, and going on frequent trips to Las Vegas with his wife. John was an amazing husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend who will be forever missed. Funeral from the Russell and Pica Funeral Home on Friday at 9:30 a.m. thence to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 439 West St., Brockton where a funeral Mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Coweeset Cemetery, Brockton.
